what power pump does this system need? I’d imagine it need more than 1000 litres per hour. You can also make having holes in the side also to save even more space. Try a large roundtrashcan with holes drilled in the side. the plants grow from the side instead of above. it works great for microherb production. I can fit nealry 200 disks in my design. Somebody else try try this idea also. it will be similar to that nasa inflatabel aeroponic system thats on the net.

i like a spray line that can provide full area coverage and not need to be positioned in between the pots. An upward sprayline is a better option than a spray line that only goes sideways.

Is this regular 3/4″ PVC or 1/2″ OD? Also, what gal/hr pump is used? What is the volume of the container?

    Thanks!

    1/2″ PVC Pipe – 18 Gal tote – 396 GPH pump – works great

  18. serpensphile says:

GREAT Tutorial!!!! If you are building this, just make sure you clean out the pipe and remove ALL the little drill shavings before gluing it together. Those little shavings can clog those sprayers!

where did you get the micro sprinkler heads from? the only place i can find them they charge $1.00 for each head

  20. rexenne says:

    Awesome!! TYVM!

  21. rexenne says:

@fermcruz80 Check yer local Greenhouses or Hydroponic supply shops. If you have none in yer area, I’m afraid you are stuck with mail-order.

  22. dcogent1 says:

@fermcruz… I just bought 75 sprinklers on eBay @ $0.50 each… They come in packs of 25…. Type in ez clone micro sprinklers and those exact same red ones
Should pop up… Great video stink… I’m starting up with this system this weekend… You are genius.. 100 pages thru your RIU post, only 700+ to go… What a wealth of info for first timer like myself…kudos!!!!

  23. rexenne says:

One thing I found out, is that the only plastic container that is suitable for this project are the rubbermaid Roughnecks because of the lip design on the lid. I tried a cheaper container, got what I paid for, & water leaked out from the lid edges. DOH!!! Thank goodness I didn’t lose much on it….heh….
